Sen. Russ Feingold holds listening sessions around the state every year. On his official website, he says:
Except for my brief introductory remarks, I spend the entire time listening, taking notes and responding to questions.
But does he really listen? Watch the video posted below from one of Sen. Feingold’s recent town hall meetings. When he votes in favor of a government takeover of health care, like he did on Christmas Eve, it’s clear he isn’t listening.

Good luck we need to send a message to everyone that enough is enough.I have wrote to Russ Fiengold about 6 times this year all I ever get back is that standard response he doesnt care. You need to go after his voting record he is a straight party voter. He doesnt care what the majority of the state of wis feels strong about he just votes the way Harry Ried tells him too.I thought hard of running against him but I didnt. You need to debate him but becareful he lies and he will ignore what anyone say. When did he get so smart that he knows more than the people who elected him.It doesnt matter what the polls show if the people say its a bad idea he doesnt care he goes with the party thats wrong we need a voice to do what the people ask for.Once again good luck thanks Jeff
This is the first that I really saw who you were. I have been supporting Dave Westlake. Now I don’t know, but I have talked at two of the Feingold listening sessions and have called and written my senators and Congresswoman Moore and they are NOT LISTENING to us. They are listening to the elites in DC. It is enough to make me sick. I sit behind the gentleman in the video and did speak.
We just must get rid of FEingold this time around. We must do what it takes one day at a time.
I’m on board! Feingold has GOT TO GO.
We write to Russ constantly, and from time to time get the boiler plate response. His “listening session” in Vernon County was between LaFarge (400 population) and Ontario (400 population). I have lived in the area all my life and not sure I could have found the place. In Richland County, Lone Rock.
Russ has not figured out that Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and the White House operatives don’t have a vote in Wisconsin, but we do. Electing Terrence is a step in taking back our country.
I will not support those who claim to represent us and then do exactly what Obama, Reed and Polosi wants them to do. Our elected officials from Wisconsin should be listening to us, the people who cast a vote for them, not those in D.C. I think its time that we the people take back our government by voting those who don’t listen out of office, whether they be Democrat or Republican.
I write the Sentator quite often and always get the same political mumbo jumbo, he’s not listening and I’m tired of him voting the party lines. I like when he held his “Town Hall” meetings to debate the Health Care issue and scheduled in towns that were way out of the way for the general populace, it’s obvious he’s not listening nor does he care to listen. I am on board to vote for anyone that is not named Feingold!! I just want to know if my vote is going to go to a Republican version of Feingold, is Wall the answer, or is he another candidate who is going to vote the party line. I’m a Republican, but lets face it, the Republicans haven’t done that great of a job lately either. So in order to get my vote, it’s going to be for someone who’s going to listen to what the people have to say and who’s going to represent the people, and not the party. Will you vote your conscience or for what’s the right thing to do? Mr. Wall are you that person????
I have a lot of hope since Scott Brown won the Senate seat in MA, so whom ever is going to get my vote needs to earn it and prove through actions that they’re going to be going to DC to represent the people that put him there.
I have e-mailed and called many times. All I get is a form letter stating I will keep your thoughts in mind BUT you need to know where I stand. Excuse me Mr Feingold, you work for me. It’s about what I want not what you want. I just got another reply where he says he is deeply disappointed it does not include the public option. He needs to go! Mr Wall will be our new senator.
Russ is right up there with the Reid Pelosi mindset, and out of touch with Wisconsin and the country.
Hi, it looks like your site
This is often my first time i visit here. I found so several interesting stuff in your blog particularly its discussion. From the heaps of comments on your articles, I suppose I am not the sole one having all the enjoyment here! maintain the great work.
In general, I am not very fond of politics on the whole – however, occasionally all of us have to pause for thought. There are several excellent issues raised here, and I am considering the point – I am grateful to you.
Russ Feingold will do what he thinks is the best for us since we are too stupid to really understand such complex issues. “I think you’ll like it once you read it” Said Russ in the Washington Co. Non listening session. Well we did read it and didn’t like it and he voted for it anyway. He did what “he” felt was the best for us. Russ Time to Go!
I too am against health care for all and Russ will not listen to me, either! Go, Terrence!
We really need someone to beat Russ Feingold. I have been saying this for some time now. Please, when debating, stand up for the people of WI, dont be afraid to say what you feel. Call him out for his lying ways!
I too have written to Feingold and Kohl several times and it’s amazing that their response came in the same form letter…they must hand that template out to senators and congressmen when they get to Washington. Basically it said thanks for your “opinion” but let we are the experts and know what is best for you, you ignorant taxpayer! I was so indignant that I fired back a quick reply..”Listen Mr. Feingold and Mr. Kohl, since you have no intention of representing those who you work for I intend to do whatever it takes to get you voed out of office”. I was not too surprised that I did not get a response to that email.
WE have to vote them out, it is just not acceptable for Feingold to sit in front of his contituents and and lie, trying to claim that 90% of us want the government to take over the best healthcare system in the world. I say we ship them all to Canada and they can beg and plead with a government official next time they need a life saving operation or cancer treatment. Would that make them a little more humble, ya think?
